Video phones and webcams use some of the same technology to function but they are very different. Many new computers these days have webcams built into them but webcams are just not as good as video phones. Here are some of the biggest differences between webcams and video phones:

Resolution – The resolution of many webcams is low, which results in a grainy picture that can be very hard to see. A good video phone should have a resolution of at least 480 x 272. The better the resolution is the clearer the picture will be. If you want a great picture during your video calls then you have to go with a video phone.

Mobility – Webcams that are built into computers are stationary and hard to adjust. Webcams that are external to the computer have a limited camera range. A high quality video phone will have a camera that can tilt, pan, zoom, focus and give you other options as well. The cameras in video phones are usually much better than the cameras used in ordinary webcams.

Frames Per Second – The refresh rate, or the number of frames per second that the camera shows, is important when it comes to image quality. Video phones are designed to have almost no lag which results in a much better quality picture that doesn’t have a lot of buffering or down time.

Of course when you’re using a video phone then you also don’t need to use an external microphone the way that you do with a webcam. It can be very difficult to get an external mic and a webcam to sync up but if you choose a video phone you don’t have to worry because the voice call and the video image will be in sync. When quality matters smart customers will choose a video phone over a webcam every time. So what is the best video phone on the market? Go here to fin out.

Using video phones to hold a video conference is a great way to connect all the employees that you have, or to hold a sales pitch for multiple clients, or even to talk to all of your family at once. Video conferencing, when done well, can be a seamless way to talk to people around the country or even around the world. But when video conferences go wrong they can irritate friends and family, annoy clients, or cause problems for your employees. Here are a few tips that you can use to make sure that the next video conference that you hold is a successful one:

Reset the Internet connection before you start – Even the best Internet service can have outages or can have service interruptions, especially if you have several people in one office using video phones to log into a video conference at once. In order to minimize the possibility that an Internet service fluctuation will holdup the video conference take a few minutes to reset your Internet connection before you get started.

Send out a last email reminder email- Make sure that everyone knows what time the conference starts and what, if any, special access codes or information they will need to get into the video conference. It’s usually best to send this email reminder out a couple of hours before the event. If you send it too far in advance it will get deleted or buried in their email inboxes. If you send it too close to the event they might not get it.

Take control of the video conference – Even if you’re using a video phone to hold a family video conference someone has to be in charge. By making yourself the designated leader it’s up to you to keep everyone on track. If the conference is a video conference it’s your responsibility to make sure everything on the agenda gets discussed. A good way to take control without stepping on anyone’s toes is to call the meeting to order once everyone is on the call and direct the course of the meeting from there.

Take notes- It doesn’t matter if you’re having a family video conference trying to plan an anniversary party or a business meeting it will be important to have notes to refer to later on. Since it’s probably not going to be possible for you to be scribbling notes on camera while the meeting is going on you can set up a mini recorder near the phone to record the call. That way you can go back and create notes later.

In this economy almost all businesses need to cut back on what they spend and watch the bottom line carefully. For small businesses streamlining overhead and operating expenses can mean the difference between making it through the recession or going under. But when it comes to streamlining day to day expenses savvy business owners know that spending money to invest in equipment that will save money down the line is a good investment. Using video phone technology is one to cut expenses while maintaining or even boosting productivity.

For example, if you have salespeople that are out traveling the country, or even the world, in order to drum up new business you are spending a lot of money on their travel that you don’t have to be spending. Utilizing video phone technology will allows your sales force to do their jobs directly from the office without giving up the kind of personal, face to face contact that impresses clients and makes sales. You can save thousands of dollars in expenses every year all for the relatively low cost of installing video phone technology in the office.

If you really wanted to save money you could even let your employees work at home, eliminating the need to maintain an office. Using video phone technology would allow you to hold staff meetings, have personal conferences with individual employees, and make sure that everyone is doing their jobs. If your employees were working at home they would be happier and you wouldn’t have to pay the costs of rent, utilities and advertising to maintain a brick and mortar office.

Another way to save money is to use video phone technology to hold trainings for your employees. Sending employees to seminars that are often held in other cities can be expensive and can take them away from their duties in the office. By using video phone technology and having them attend online or video conference seminars they can get the same training at a fraction of the cost and without leaving the office empty for several days.

Using video phone technology can save small businesses enough over the course of a year to really help them grow to the next level and compete with some of the bigger firms in their respective industries. When you’re running a small business investing in good technology often is what you need to do in order to keep your business running and stay competitive.

If you’ve been waiting to see what the next big trend is when it comes to business communication technology, wait no longer – the next big trend in business communication is video phones. Video phones have been around for decades, but in the past the expense of installing them and using them made it impossible for small or medium sized businesses to afford them.

These days the cost of using video phones has dropped and the efficiency of video phones has increased which has made them more popular than ever for business use. One of the reasons for the drop in the cost of using video phones is the development of high speed Internet connections.

Using a high speed Internet connection for video calls means that you can get a great picture and digital quality calls for a very low price since you’re using an existing Internet connection. Video phones are a step above VOIP phones but they use essentially the same technology to provide video with phone calls instead of just phone calls.

A lot of businesses don’t like to jump on the technology trend bandwagon since business communication technology trends can change quickly and businesses can end up spending a lot of money chasing trends if they’re not careful. But video phones are one trend that will be around for awhile. Video phones themselves have always been highly regarded in the business world but now that small businesses can afford to utilize the power of video more and more businesses will start using them.

In today’s economy anything that a business can do to cut costs will help that business stay afloat and a lot of businesses are realizing that with Internet based video phone calls they can stop sending employees to meeting and trainings in other states or other countries. Meetings, trainings, and other business events that require face to face contact can be held in house using video phones, which saves small companies big bucks.

To begin saving your business or home big buck, Buy Video Phone today.
